Stuff and Nonsense

Agunnaryd - Marsholm

Today was an IKEA culture day where we were transported back to our roots in Sweden.
We all took a bus ride to Almhült which is a small place in Sweden where over half of the population work for one of the IKEA companies

The company was registered in 1943(so we are 75 years old this year), by Ingar Kamprad when he was 17. He started his entrepreneurship by buying matches in bulk when he was a child and selling them individually for a profit.

It was a really interesting day going around the IKEA museum, which is now on the old site of the first store in Almhült. We also went to Tilsammens, which is the learning centre and then ended up in the house above in Agunnaryd for a lovely meal, singing by a local family and stories about the old days. The house has been kept in the 1940’s style and is really interesting. And you can also see that we had fabulous weather.

We didn’t arrive back to Helsingborg until around 11:30, so we’re all shattered but a good time was had by one and all.
