A New Day

Edzell Castle, Angus

Today was one of our Magical Mystery Tours, when we go out for a drive without having a clue where we're going! We decide at the last moment whether to turn right or left and see where the road takes us. So we headed towards Aberdeen, then turned off to Edzell for a snack. This is the ruined castle there (closed at the moment) which we've often visited.

We continued on past the castle (a new road for us) and found a pretty park near the River North Esk. I took lots of photos of the swirling river and the fascinating rock formations and then it was on up the hills to some beautiful landscapes whichever way you looked.

We ended up at Loch Kinordy, an RSPB reserve, where we watched the starlings perform a small murmuration before settling for the night and then drove home towards a lovely sunset after a really enjoyable day out.

Hope you had a good one too!
