More young enthusiasm.

The last day with grandsons here. It is wonderful to see their excitement at finding things in the natural world. And so important for children who spend their lives in city suburbs.

The day began with opening the moth trap. Nothing very unusual but a good selection of common moths including Sallow Kitten and this nicely named Bright-line Brown-eye.

Then to an event in a local wood where they found lots of rabbit holes, mouse holes, mole hills and what was clearly the entrance to a badger set.

Now they have gone home back to the city. The old folks have enjoyed it and hope they have sown some seeds which will grow into a love of the natural world as the grandsons grow up. Nature will certainly need all the love it can get.
