The Shades

I know I'm looking at light, but with light, there are shades, and I have been eternally fascinated by tonal shading, particularly of hills. There was a guy whose photos used to be on postcards of Scotland when I was a kid whose shots were superb in this regard.

So this is my attempt today, as there were mists most of the day, despite real heat in the air. This is the view from one of the hills of Huddersfield, on the top floor of an old Mill building we use at work. This is the view across to the north,
