Crack(ed)

This is a reheater pipe, leading from the boiler to the steamturbine.
Last week some water came dripping out of the insulation so we had to investigate.
This is special material containing Molybdenium and Vanadium, because steam (medium pressure but still 35 bar) with a temperature of 540 deg. Centigrade is passing through on it's way to the medium pressure part of the steam turbine.
We saw a crack, just on a welded part.
Just welding it agaain is not allowed; there is a special program to glow it to the right temperature, cut the old join out, weld it and drop the temperature slowly again....
After that the welded part has to be examined by X-Ray and when it's OK we can bring it under pressure again.
I changed the picture to another one because in this one there is some more action.
It was a pretty large crack!
Here the pipe is beiing cut so the welder can do his job.
