Stornaway

Rather than rush back immediately after the LAMM, it seemed like a good idea to stay the night and get a flight back the following afternoon. It would give me the chance to explore Stornaway which, as the only settlement of any size in the Western Isles must be interesting. Wrong: it's dull, dull, and charmless, particularly in a Sunday. I walked round Lews castle grounds and then out to St Columba's chapel, where my tour guide was this cat.

Finally arriving at the airport after walking for 22km, I discovered that the plane was first two, and now four hours late. To cap it all, the weather cleared whilst I was waiting, but I wasn't inspired to go out and re-visit the area!
