Stock Judging.

This today’s/yesterday’s sort of combined!

I’m all behind as by the time we left the Bath and West Show Ground last night I was pretty pooped. It has been a LONG week. Monday at Show Ground, Tuesday Home sorting out every thing from the Norfolk weekend, Wednesday at Show Ground by 8:30am Home by 9:45 pm, Thursday Home trying to deal with Insurance on Mr Tbay Jnrs truck. Thought Mr Tbay would blow a gasket at one point in his efforts to sort it all out! Friday at Show Ground by 8:30 and Home by 8:30 pm. Saturday off again for last day . A long day as you cannot get onto the Show Ground with vehicles until 7:00pm. We had to dismantle the YFC tent and pack that into a series of cattle / horse boxes/ cars! Then Mr Tbay had to go to the other end of the Show Ground to pick up the Farm Community Network trailer to bring back with us! So that was yesterday!

The picture is of the Pig Judge announcing the winner of the Senior Pig Stock Judging Competition at the Show. This was done on Mr Tbays splendid bridge. The recipient is one of our lovely Somerset members , Emma, from Farrington Gurney YFC. Doesn’t it look good!!

Today starts with Mr Tbay waking me up saying he is having to go to Birmingham. WHY! Because at midnight last night the flights to Malta for Mrs Tbay Jnr plus children, Mrs V, Mrs Tbay Jnrs two sisters and Mum and Dad was cancelled!!! Mrs Tbay Jnr sister is a travel agent and by sheer good luck between her and Mrs Tbay Jnr they found 6 seats going from Birmingham! But dear Blippers that is a lot further than Bristol airport, the original destination! I then had to take Raymond to his tractor and Maize Drill which he had left overnight at the farm he was on.

Farming - Breakdowns today. Arghhhhhh! Yes MORE! The Massey Furguson out raking returned home OK and then refused to start again. Hmmmm. Then the bale wrapper would not bale despite the replacement of a hydraulic ram. Arghhhh! So out the engineer comes. The baler was an air lock. Phew . So that is up and running but the tractor is still not. We had two out mowing, one baling and one raking. They have now gone bale hauling so it will be a late one tonight.

Mr Tbay too one look at the lawns and decided that he must start to mow before the lawn became a jungle and I started weeding the flower beds. It is just never ending!!

This week should be a bit quieter as such. Just the chaos of this place..............
