Neymar

I doubt I'll ever get the chance to get a shot of Neymar again. Bottom right.

Brazil v Croatia at Anfield and it seemed a bit of a no brainer as a displacement activity for a hot Sunday afternoon. We figured it would be busy, but were struck by how many of the Brazilian diaspora had travelled for this one and Portuguese was a kind of lingua franca in Anfield today.

The Croatian contingent was strong, but the Brazilians had drums and flares - there was no contest really. And so it played out on the pitch with a brilliant goal from Neymar, who doesn't seem to be bothered there are defenders in front of him - just run around them - and a deal sealer from Firmino in the last minute of added time.

This may not be the best Brazil side to go to a World Cup and they were at a serious risk of being caught by Croatia's counter attacks before the 0-0 at half time, but that was before Neymar came on for the second half. The combination of him and Firmino is formidable and add Coutinho into the mix and this is a side who can definitely win the prize in Moscow.

I'll doubt Gareth Southgate is reading my words, but I'll bet he had an eye on this one.
