a small fragment of my personal history to mark four years of my "other" journal.

I owned this mill back in the late eighties and early nineties,  we produced the most beautiful Leaver's lace here until 2000 on machines brought here from Nottingham, England in the mid 1800s.  The building is now used for storage and there have been a few attempts to rehab it for loft living.

The twist in the tale is that this building was erected in the 1800s by a man who emigrated to America from my hometown, Leeds, England 150 years before I came here.  It was originally used to weave cloth for the Fruit of the Loom companies.

Life is tenuous and finite,  recognize and grab your opportunities whenever you can.
