Salvage from the Wreckage

Going about

C’s birthday and, with H, we had a day out in Cambridge.
Well, an afternoon. By the time C had had a haircut and H had got organised.
We went to the newly refurbed Kettles Yard gallery. It is great. An old cottage filled with art that opens out into a larger, but still domestic space. And a modern gallery attached.
And a tea room.
The old part had lots of Alfred Wallace and Ben Nicholson and other, less recognisable stuff. A nice feature was that they don’t label anything.
The modern part had a very minimalistic Anthony Gormley show on. It left lots of empty space which was rather effective. There was a review on Front Row on Friday 1st June and it appears that we missed one room out altogether!
Just time for a bit of shopping - clothes or records, according to taste. Found a great record shop - Black Barn... spent money.
Home in time to play tennis, then takeaway and a movie (Maggie’s Plan - not bad) with our daughter.
