Ancient Mariners

Aka as The Bus Pass Walkers didn’t feel the motion of the ocean as we ditched our Bus Passes in favour of a barge along the Leeds Liverpool Canal - from Snaygill towards Gargrave and back

We became adept at casting off - swinging the swing bridges - with our special key - land was always ahoy - soon knew our aft from our stern - all those who wanted to “drive” did - under the guidance of SJ - should the position of Admiral Of The Fleet become vacant - he’s the man - the ladies who “drove “ will be henceforth called The Tiller Girls

Think I may have come home with avast behind - whilst on board we managed to have elevenses - lemon drizzle cake and flapjack - bacon sandwiches for lunch - and a cream tea prior to disembarking

Quite like being an an ancient mariner
