Swan Tarn

Took Verity and Kitty to the tarn, first having fish and chips at the renowned Murgatroyds ( isn’t that a good old Yorkshire name? It literally means ‘l’m going up to look at the moors).

To work off all those calories l walked around the tarn while the girls, watched by Mr P went to the playground, favouring the zip wire today.
I usually do three or four laps but was thwarted today by part of the lap being closed off while the path was being repaired.
As l doubled back l saw the swan family had left the middle of the tarn and had come to the edge of the water to show off their new offspring.
If l’d done the usual loop l would have missed them.
Think the girls wished they come with me when they saw what l’d seen.

Then it’s been another drive to Skipton, this time two hours of ballet for Kitty.
Wednesday is the two older girls welcome day off from dance.
Ruby uses today to try and get a week’s homework done in one evening as her time is tight.
Not sure what we will be eating for supper as we are still quite full from lunchtime.
Murgatroyds are not skinny with their portions!
