Army Navy

With the time dutifully blocked off in my calendar for the ‘Army VS Navy Match’ I woke up and dressed ready for the event. After a marvellous breakfast with the cousins we set off for the train station and had the first lot of beers. I, unable to drink, settled for starting to work my way through the 72 photos I could take over two roles of film.

“Upgraded” to first class, losing dad, losing josh, finding dad and josh then nearly losing them again in the crowds on the way to the match it was a wild ride to Twickenham but we got there all in one piece. It really is an excuse to drink from 10am - 10pm but its a jolly good one and a fun time to socialise with family I’ve not seen for a long while. The match soon enough kicked off though and with everyone in their seats it was time for the somewhat inevitable Army winning Navy losing (despite their best efforts). Burning hot in the stands, part of me was glad i could cool off inside the stadium.

A visit to a little memorial stone in the ground for my Grandad done with a little more beer, we happily milled around after the match before heading back towards the previous area we were in, a car park, and everyone collapsing on a pavement in the shade.

We finished the day back in Woking with some Nando’s before tucking ourselves up in bed.
