Govan Town Hall

Govan Town Hall was built in the Beaux Arts style, to a design by architects Thomson & Sandilands, and completed at a cost of c£60000 in 1899. The red sandstone is from Dumfriesshire.

[Govan didn’t become part of the City of Glasgow until 1912, hence having its own administrative centre before then]

Today, it houses Film City Glasgow.
