Mary Poppins?

After dropping mum off for her hospital appointment at the Royal Free I drove about for a bit to dodge a parking ticket and came across Admirals's House in a quiet back street.

The quarterback at the top by an old Navy Admiral inspired Mrs Travers to pen the character of Admiral Boom in Mary Poppins. This house has been painted by Constable and lived in by Sir George Gilbert Scott.

This is a house with a lovely story. Hampstead has many of these in its pretty backstreets.
