Vienna

My friend and I had a wonderful trip to Vienna. We caught the train and arrived just in time for lunch. We went to Cafe Central which has the most fabulous cakes but we ended up having a light meal. We thought we might pop in again on the way back for coffee and cake. Our intention was to visit 2 art galleries but, after soaking up the sunshine and the Viennese atmosphere over our second glass of Grüner Veltliner, we only had time for one exhibition. We went to the amazing MUMOK gallery of Avantgarde art. Only 2 floors were open as they were installing a new exhibition but they reduced the entrance fee. There were 2 interesting but inexplicable exhibitions, to my mind, even though I am pretty open to modern art.The Egon Schiele and Klimt exhibition at the adjacent Leopold Museum will be a definite on our next visit. I felt rather exhausted afterwards so we sat and had a drink overlooking the fantastic space of the Museum Quartier. An approaching storm accompanied by strong winds sent us back to the train station earlier than we intended but we will be back again, soon.
Edit: the Blip is of the interior of a pavilion in the Volksgarten which was built to house a single artwork which is now in the museum. The installation is meant to represent the fragility of life.
