Learning day by day

Jurassic London

When W was a baby he was a control in a study looking at the early introduction of allergenic foods in breastfed babies. He was then followed up at three and today was taking part in a spin off study looking at general diet and health in eight year olds. He had height and weight done, a gallon of blood taken, skin hydration measured, overall body water content, skin prick tests, body fat and then finally his spirometry done. He was rubbish at this last bit and I was itching to take over the instructions from the nurse who was trying but failing to get him to do it well. (It is something I did a lot in a former life.)

Anyway we were released just after 11am and all W could think of was food, so we walked a bit then we ended up at Wagamama, where we both are lots. He was particularly stroppy when we came out, so I curtailed the day and we headed to Kings Cross. There he found this huge dinosaur as part of the advertising for the new Jurassic Park film. Which reminds me that when we arrived this morning as we got of the train the music from Jurassic Park started playing, W stopped dead and shouted "Mummy, this is John Williams! It's a film I haven't seen but it's definitely John Williams." Made me laugh, he recognises John Williams in the way others would recognise Mozart or Tchaikovsky!
