Totally dark and miserable weather outside deserved an emergency blip inside.

We hired our twelve year old to babysit one evening last week; hubby attended a parents' night at school (his first one ever in all these eight years we've had kids at school - just for the record!) while I had an optician appointment. When we came back, the three of them were sitting in the living room surrounded by piles and patches of fabrics, buttons and stuff. Apparently she had taught them to sew little stuffed toys with a thread and a needle.

H & A have been busy since then, drawing little creatures on fabrics, cutting, sewing and stuffing - in other words, having fun. Would I have been as successful in teaching them how to sew? Never.
