Buskers

This morning I went to Oswestry to do some shopping and these buskers were playing in Bailey Street at the bottom of the outdoor market. They were very good too!

When I was in the library I was asked to take part in a recording of the names of all the Shropshire soldiers that fell in World War I.  I had to read the name of Private William Paddock and was given a card with his details on - he died aged 38 in March 1918. How sad, he almost made it to the end of the war.

Each name will be read by a different person and in November the recording of the names will accompany an art installation which will commemorate the ending of the war.  Apparently the recording will take four hours as so many were killed.
