Rolling Stones

I spent a very pleasant lunchtime with five of our MSc class of ten years ago, together with two partners, three small children and a colleague. Then I went into Edinburgh with lots of time to spare before the concert at Murrayfield, so I walked out along the Water of Leith path, together with a guy from Durham who was lost. The Rolling Stones concert was sensationally good: far better than I'd expected. They weren't just four old men playing through their hits, but crafting extended versions of songs, and showing that they could still do the absolute basics with a splendid version of a blues song I'd never heard before. I'm so glad I could afford the outrageous ticket price!
