Butlins Holidays

A beautiful poppy that reminds me of three holidays we had at the Butlins holiday resorts, from where Jane helped herself to a couple of the resort's poppy seed heads.

The seeds were just thrown down, but flourished on the outside base of our garden hedge, and now they have spread to my daughter's garden, and numerous neighbour's gardens, who have admired them while passing by.

The Butlins holiday resorts have great disabled facilities, but unfortunately they are in our past, as Jane's MS has deteriorated, and we need to be at home with specialised equipment. The combination of family, entertainment, food and fresh air made excellent holidays though.

Yesterday, I made a cracking beef stew for me and Jane, and I even used some of my own fresh herbs. The remainder is in the fridge for today. On reflection, I suppose, it would have been better if I had frozen the rest for a day next week.

In the garden, I've split my bamboo again, and made four new pots to sell next spring. I used all my recycled compost, and filled up the composter again with grass cuttings etc.

Well, it's 7 o'clock in the morning and Jane and the dogs are still asleep. The sparrows and the pigeons are up and about though, and are chirping and cooing outside, where I will probably go for my second cup of tea.

Also, on reflection, I am glad I joined Blipfoto because I am following, and being followed by, people in different parts of the UK, and other countries of the world. Reckon it's great to see "blips", or "moments in time", through other peoples eyes.
