The Face of Stoke-on-Trent

We went back to The Festival in a Factory for the last day today. This time we saw Rachel Joyce who writes amazing human interest stories including “The unlikely pilgrimage of Harold Fry”, and Simon Mayo. His recent book “Mad Blood Stirring” is based on true events on American sailors held captive in Dartmoor prison at the end of the Second War of American Independence.

Before all this we walked into Hanley as I had a birthday card to post, and came across this image. He’s “The Face of Stoke-on-Trent”. Made up of 3,550 photographs of faces. This is 23 year old Jozef Clark whose image was chosen to represent the city as a young person in the here and now.

It’s a fascinating image when you get up close.
