Arezzo War Cemetery

Another busy day and it’s not finished yet!

Had to go to the dentist’s in the early afternoon and took advantage of the trip to Arezzo to visit the war cemetery. I had always driven past it, but never stopped. It’s a lovely place, completely different from everywhere else round here: perfectly groomed graves, immaculate grass, order.

There are 1267 soldiers buried here, all of them from the Commonwealth (787 from the U.K., 378 from India, 50 from South Africa, 27 from New Zealand, 20 from Canada, 3 from the pioneer corps of Southern Africa, 1 from other allies and 1 entirely unidentified).
