Not Leaving On A Jet Plane
Imagine, if you will, being delighted to have survived your holiday. You are now focussed on getting to the airport. You will cope with all the stress. You have promised yourself, you will cope.
And you get to the airport - all in good time, 2 hours before your supposed departure time. You're nervous but you have taken tablets that hopefully mean you won't be having a dose of the screaming ab-dabs.
You wait at the gate. You can see the plane. It's right there. Yahoo. We'll be home by 8 tonight.
It's 10 minutes before departure time (14:45) and the display board changes from "Boarding Soon" to "Departing 17:30".
Eh?
So we take our voucher for food/water and go and sit down.
There's free internet. So we can check things.
After an hour of waiting Frankfurt Airport has our flight as cancelled. But here in London City it's still showing as leaving at 17:30. Who is telling the truth?
Sadly Frankfurt was.
Which is why we're sitting in a hotel room not far from London Shitty Airport.
OK BA is paying for it.
But I am not at home. Where I really wanted to be, because "the weather is REALLY bad in Frankfurt".
And I have to go through the whole fear of the airport wait again. Tomorrow morning. Flying at 7. That means getting up at 4:30...
I am not a happy bunny.
Funny that the Lufthansa flight that was scheduled for 16:55 managed to get to Frankfurt. And also another BA flight from London City. A pox on Álex Cruz.
And if I ever fly again, it will not be with BA.
