Bonfire Night

Remember, remember the Fifth of November,
The Gunpowder Treason and Plot,
I know of no reason
Why the Gunpowder Treason
Should ever be forgot.
Guy Fawkes, Guy Fawkes, t'was his intent
To blow up the King and Parli'ment.
Three-score barrels of powder below
To prove old England's overthrow;
By God's providence he was catch'd
With a dark lantern and burning match.

And what should we do with him? Burn him!

And here's a picture of a sparkler for you. I think it looks rather like what a shooting star ought to be.

As I'm studying History at University, I find the celebration of Bonfire Night rather odd, seeing as we're effectively celebrating the death of someone who was executed four hundred years ago.

But still, I love the fireworks
