30 Days Wild - 9 - Sambucus nigra

A first for four of us today: everyday former life for one of us. A ride in a fire engine! A real one, around the streets of Sheffield, complete with siren sounds (within the cab).

The Bro-in-Law was a fireman, his father was a part-time fireman, as was his grandfather. We let Kanyl sit in the front, though he wasn't allowed to drive! This was all part of a visit to Sheffield's National Emergency Services Museum. (See Extra.)

A thoroughly wet afternoon! Wet as in shorts and tee-shirt on playing in the big paddling pool with The Grandchildren. I wonder why I was the only adult getting wet? Maybe the others were concentrating on the drinks and barbecue.

A walk out in the evening looking for something wild: elderflowers.
