Current Book 5

I had time for a coffee in Waitrose today and a chance to do a bit of reading as I wanted to finish this book before we go on holiday at the end of the week.

This book has proved to be a bit of a gem and I'm really enjoying it. The author follows in the footsteps of Agatha Christie who made the journey to Baghdad by train on many occasions. Her second husband was an archaeologist and was involved in digs in both Syria and Iraq and they had a house in Baghdad for many years. The train journey is where she got the inspiration for Murder on the Orient Express. The author made the journey just before the fall of Iraq and it is part travelogue tied in with a partial biography about Agatha Christie.
