My World Through A Lens

Peregrine

A quick shot of one of the Peregrines that have nested for the second year on a water tower in New Milton.

Hampshire Ornithological Society in conjunction with Bournemouth Water placed a nesting box in one of the turrets of the 30 meter water tower last year to encourage the birds to nest in an undisturbed part of the tower.

This one gave us all of 30 seconds to grab a few shots before flying off to join another one circling above the tower.

The Winchester cathedral Peregrines are also doing well this year, successfully rearing a family.

The Salisbury cathedral female Peregrine lost her mate so sadly hasn't bred this year.
