No ferries today

An uneventful drive up here last night, arriving just as it began to get dark. Over the Connel Bridge (built as a railway bridge in 1903 I now know) and parked up for the night in the first lay by we came to.

Hugely buffeted by gusty winds but the van wasn't swept into the sea and we woke to find a text from Calmac to say that all ferries had been cancelled.

Very fortunate to book the LAST space on tomorrow's sailing to Barra!

And the good news is that rather than rush through Oban as we usually do, we've spent the day exploring. Went to the fascinating War and Peace Museum, up to McCaig's Monument and now we are in a cafe which is dog-friendly and (mostly) vegan.

Also..the rain has stopped :-) Happy days.
