The Hidden Cinema.

Opening in 1938, this Art Deco-influenced movie theatre held a capacity of 1650 in its heyday before closing as a cinema in 1972. Since then it has became a bingo hall, a nightclub and a gospel church and plans are underway to redevelop the building as a residential complex.

This year's Hidden Door Festival gave visitors a last look at a familiar local landmark that has remained Leith's architectural mystery.
