horns of wilmington's cow

Typically Assynt

I have to say I think the Assynt mountains are the most spectacular than any others in Scotland, and that includes the view of the Cuillin. There's something about each one standing in glorious isolation that gives them a grandeur, despite neither in this shot actually being a Munro (there are only a couple here). Suilven's sugarloaf on the right; Canisp (I think) on the left.

Similar day to yesterday, starting with rain and wind; giving way to forecast brightness, so the wander along the coast at Stoer, from the lighthouse to the point, via the giant Old Man (in the extras), was pleasant in the end, if still breezy. We saw a couple of young climbers getting ready to ascend the sea stack. Nuts. Impressive.

Last day, so out for dinner tonight.
