The Baking Goddess

Eat your heart out Mary Berry. No creaming of butter and sugar, just the whole caboodle pitched into a bowl and whisked enough to combine.
One of the cakes will be frozen, the other one will be halved and filled with raspberries and cream. The hungry offspring will demolish it tomorrow.

His Lordship decided to join me this morning on my pre breakfast amble round parts of south Edinburgh. It was one of those magical mornings, still with not a breath of wind, the rain forecast holding off and the world all to ourselves. Yes it was that early.

When we issued forth a second time, the rain had arrived and the world was full of wet tourists shaking rain off umbrellas and looking rather miserable.
I’m hoping the rain will stop for my rendezvous with daughter#1 in town later. Umbrellas and ladies, vertically challenged, are not an ideal combination: passing pedestrians risk being skewered by low slung brollies.
