Day 167/8. Hardwick Hall document room

We visited Hardwick Hall in the north of England today.
The Muniment Room at Hardwick Hall, Derbyshire. From 1603 this room housed the 'muniments' (title deeds and other documents) for the Hardwick estates. Hardwick Hall was built in the late 16th century for Bess of Hardwick.
This is the document room where 400 wooden boxes and drawers kept the family legal documents and archives.
