Trans Pride 2018

A perfect day for the Trans Pride March. I remember gathering in this same location in 70's when I was thirty years old for the Gay Pride March. I wore a paper bag over my head because I was a public school teacher and we were not protected from discrimination in our teacher contract. I was "in the closet" and we were in the beginning stages of working to achieve our civil rights. It was wonderful to be there today with the trans community and their allies, and the non-binary and lgbtqi community who are in their thirties working to include the Trans community and preserve our victories.
