I love elections,
even when I can't vote:
All the news and speculations.

But when I can vote it's a thousand times better.
Someone came by the other day to put me on the register.
She said I could have a postal vote if I wanted.

No no no no no. Definitely not.

I love the whole physical act of voting:
Getting to the voting place.
Getting your name ticked off.
Getting the paper and going into the booth.
Making the mark.
Posting the paper in the box.
Coming away. Going home.
Being a drop in the ocean.
There is something great about it all.
Being a drop in the ocean.
