Steelblue lady bug

We have had quite a lot of these ladybugs around our property, particularly over summer on our five finger trees (shown here on Daphne). The steelblue ladybug was introduced into NZ in 1899 as a biological control agent for black scale, they feed on honey dew from some insects which explains its presence on our five finger tree as it was covered in some sort of dew producing bug (the leaves are still sticky and shiny from the dew).
