We like this island so much that we decided to stay for another night, camped right between two beautiful beaches. I was saying that i was sorry we couldn't visit the deserted village of Eorasdail this time, but D said "Why not?" so we set off to the southern tip of Vatersay, to Bàgh á Deas (South Bay) and inland again until we saw, nestled in the valley, this sad site, abandoned in the 1970's. You can read about it here and about all the other interesting things on : Vatersay

In the afternoon, we drove north to Barra (sheltering in the wonderful Buth Barra Community shop from the rain) and then north again past the airport (on the beach!) to the tip of the island where D showed me a beautiful ancient chapel called Cille Barra.

We found an interesting place to camp between two containers, sheltered from the wind and next to a lovely beach where we walked at sunset, next to turquoise waters with curious seals :-)
