look of wonder.....

the teacher was showing the children that when you put an egg in water it sank to the bottom, and when you added salt to the water, it began to float.  The excitement was incredible....the look of wonder and amazement as the egg began to float!!

How I love to see this in children!  The boy in the middle was really funny - he said that if you boiled the egg in the salt water it would taste better!  In Zambia, people take a lot of salt on their food and they also put a lot of salt on children's food which means they grow accustomed to having a lot of salt on food - of course this can lead to medical problems as they grow, so we do try to inform our children in the ECD centres that they don't need to add so much salt to food!  I was impressed by the boys thinking though!

I left around 14 hours to travel to Monze where I will be for the next couple of days!  Just arrived as darkness was falling at 18 hours!  (In Zambia we use the 24 hour clock!)
