The Ghost Show

I took my friend Irvine Hunt for a hospital appointment recently as he no longer drives.  A few years ago I read his book, The Drover's Boy, about the adventures of a young lad whilst driving a flock of geese from Silloth to Carlisle to sell at the market.  As a thank-you for the lift he gave me a copy of the sequel, a fictionalised account of the same boy's association with the real-life Biddall family and their travelling show.  Both books are of local-history interest, as the stories are based on real events in Cumbria's past, and are suitable for both children and adults.
