Getting the sparkle back

Melrose Abbey

From Harmony Garden, where T and I were for the Borders Book Festival, to hear Sally Magnusson talk about her first novel, The Sealwoman's Gift. It relates the story of an Icelandic woman who was abducted, along with her husband and children and many others, from Iceland to Algiers and sold as a slave. This is based on historical fact. I will be reading it as soon as I've finished my current book!

Sadly the weather wasn't at all great - the wettest day for a long time. Still, we were inside the marquee listening to Sally Magnusson when the heaviest rain fell.
