Ottawa

We had a city tour this morning viewing some lovely buildings including the Canadian museum of history, Parliament buildings , cathedrals and many more. One of the highlights was a visit to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Musical Ride Centre where the horses are trained to perform. We were lucky enough to pat the horses in the stables.

For morning tea we ate beaver tails at the ByWard markets. They are donuts which are flattened, sugared and served warm. Delicious and not at all good for you.
After lunch we walked around near our hotel, visited a shopping mall, saw the Rideau locks and watched a boat travelling up, walked around the river to the parliament buildings which included a climb of 180 steps, visited the Canadian bank museum then headed back for a rest.

We ate dinner in the hotel then walked back to ByWard markets for ice-creams.

We will sleep well tonight.
