When Fergus was at Slaty Farlan

14.8C and mostly sunny. Some cloud around. NW/NNW wind to 23 mph with gusts to 33 mph.

Clara was still unloading sheet steel this morning.

After lunch Fergus and I went for a walk out to the old shipyard and wandered out the shore path almost to Macringan's Point. We had a little sit down out of the breeze at Slaty Farlan to watch the diving Gannets.

On the first day of Summer
The palette along the path has changed and the path narrowed with lush growth crowding in.
Paler leaf greens have set to mature darker shades.
The bright yellow of the Gorse has faded.
Pale Lemon flowers fringe the paths with occasional brighter yellow Birds Foot Trefoil and Dandelion, with Flag Iris at the edge of the trickling burn beneath the little metal bridge.
Pink Campion and small white Roses line the dry stone wall out to the first gate.
Grass seed heads are swelling and swaying in the breeze.
... and still the Gannets are diving.
