Peel castle

Peel Castle sits on an islet near the harbour of Peel. Built by William le Scrope in 1392, the castle holds within its walls a wealth of history. Situated on St Patrick's Isle and is believed to be the first place Christianity was brought to the Isle of Man by St Patrick around 1226. The islet site is covered in ruins starting from around 1000 AD.
