and through the wire...

Atic Atac

For the past 2 nights I've been putting more substantial flooring in the attic in an effort to create some space and begin the conversion. The old metal conduit pipes wind round the floor for the lights and sockets etc, so previously I had a mish-mash of boards, all wobbly, different sizes.

I probably spent more time thinking and planning this than doing it although fitting them, on raised blocks to avoid the conduit, felt like the hokey cokey. Without the space to first lay the blocks along the rafters, then the flooring the other way, I was constantly shuffling all the boxes around.

But now there is loads and loads of space, it's quite amazing, for us!  The attic will eventually be plasterboarded and electrified so the boards will all be lifted for that again, but it will be so much easier. It's a bit of a relief to get this done... next!
