Sgwarnog: In the Field

By sgwarnog

Pied

I was working from home but managed to escape onto the moor for a bit in the afternoon.

I spied this juvenile Pied Wagtail atop a wall on Sconce Lane.

There were a fair few butterflies about: Meadow Brown, Speckled Wood, Small Heath, Large Skipper, Ringlet, Large White and a very fresh Small Tortoiseshell which will have been the first of the summer brood. Lep of the day though was a lovely Yellow Shell moth  (extra), and an Antler Moth caterpillar was a nice find (extra).

Later, a somewhat larger flying object (Airbus A400M) rumbled overhead (extra).
