Flashy visitor

As we don't get Kingfishers here, the bird that always lifts my heart when it visits is the beautiful Jay, with its brilliant blue wing flash and rich rose plumage. This one is brutal...it has found a good source of caterpillars in one of our shrubs and so returns often. Here he is butchering his prey on a garden chair, normally uses a fence. Hope he leaves a few to make it to butterflies (which no doubt Jays also find a tasty smackerel).
