Ola from Sunny Spain!

Backblip

Hello again - I'm back and in more ways than one:-)  Back to Blip and back from a week on the Costa Brava.

Sorry for the long gap, but I was advised not to say we were away while our house is on the market and the details are widely available.  We know that all and sundry can see them, as we have had several unsolicited offers from removal firms to help us move house!  Also, the wi-fi in out holiday home was a bit hit and miss.

There was a huge hitch three days before our holiday, which was booked in January and shared with our daughter and son-in-law, when the holiday company told us our chosen villa was no longer available as they had stopped dealing with the company.  They re-booked us to another villa in a similar location, but it was one we had already discounted, so I was not at all happy.  I checked online and found a third villa which we much preferred, so they booked that one for us instead at no extra charge, although it was bigger than the original one.

Great deal, we thought, until my daughter went online and discovered there was a GoKarting track, a dog kennels and a quarry all within a very short distance!!!  No wonder it was still available:-)  I tried to change it but there was nothing else available at such short notice, so we decided to risk it and take ear plugs, just in case.

However, it turned out to be a false alarm and we barely noticed any of the "problems" while we were there.  In fact the most noise was made by the dozens of swallows nesting nearby and we could happily live with that:-)

The villa was amazing - an old farmhouse, partly converted to a holiday let and with its own private swimming pool in a beautiful location.  It was close to a couple of towns, but far enough away to be completely private and we all loved it.  A few of the building details in Extras.

We had hired a car for the week and this was upgraded to a BMW 318 automatic, which our son-in-law enjoyed driving and we were grateful for his skills at all the many roundabouts!  The weather was hot and sunny (about 28 degrees) and the pool was a welcome relief.

Hope you'll have a chance to look at the other backblips for the rest of the week.  Comments are back on again:-)
