ICE LEGO

ICE (institute of Civil Engineers) commissioned Bright Bricks to build a lego bridge with the longest span ever made.   Its on display in the St Enoch Centre Glasgow.

The aim was to 1) break the world record; 2) engage a wider audience in engineering; 3) Provide Lego build activities to inform inspire and engage visitors.

Now photographing the record breaking longest suspension  bridge is a bit of a challenge.  So I quickly spotted that the only way to capture it properly would be from the bridge dfirectly above.  So I worked out the way to get up to it and was just about to get a shot when I got chased away by someone from the centre manager's office!   So their claims of wanting to promote it and to engage a wider audience didn't go as far as letting me get a decent picture of it!

So instead this is a shot of a super hero (you can just about make out his cape and mask) in front of the structure.
