heron on the weir

Another beautiful day. Took mum to Humbie for lunch and then time relaxing in the garden before an evening meal and home to Haddington. Took Molly for her usual walk along the Tyne. Saw at least 2, possibly 3 heron this evening. This one was on the weir on the lookout for fish. It took off and flew across the field  as we were walking downstream. Heard a really raucous cry and just caught a glimpse of a heron in flight heading up into a tree. Not sure if it was the same one that had doubled back. A little further down there was another heron standing on a rock at the far bank. It was all curled up into itself and looked as though it was having a snooze.
