Looking back a little .....

I had lunch with an old friend and colleague and thoroughly enjoyed our chat. Mixture of old times and looking ahead. She's working on the reform of one of our public services; fascinating work. I suppose in these situations you might wish the past didn't happen; that there was a blank sheet of paper. There isn't.

And there was lots of goodness in the past worth retaining. The difficult thing is which bits were the good bits.
